Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP) Workshop

The Systematic Training for Effective Parenting Workshop (STEP) will meet for a six week Fall session. The Tuesday evening classes will start on Tuesday October 7th, 2008 and run through November 11th 2008. They will be held at the Stanton Elementary School from 5:45pm-7:45pm. The STEP Workshop offers all parents a realistic and down-to-earth approach to meeting the challenges of raising children today. This 6 session Workshop will have a discussion group format providing an opportunity for parent interaction.

WEEK #1 October 7th Understanding children’s behavior and
misbehavior

WEEK #2 October 14th Understanding how children use emotion
to involve parents

WEEK #3 October 21st Encouragement

WEEK #4 October 28th Communication and listening

WEEK #5 November 4th Exploring alternatives and expressing
ideas and feelings to children

WEEK #6 November 11th Developing responsibility
